Language Lock

This Privacy Policy describes how OneClick Commerce LLC ("Language Lock," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Language Lock mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Summary

Language Lock helps you reduce time spent on distracting apps by requiring short language-learning sessions to unlock additional time. To provide this functionality, the App relies on Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls technology, which operates primarily on your device. We design the App to collect the minimum amount of personal information necessary to operate, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. Language Lock requires an account to use. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and authentication credentials so we can identify you, secure your account, and sync your settings across your devices.

App usage and learning progress. We collect information about your use of the App, such as the languages you select, lessons completed, streaks, time budgets you set, and subscription status. This lets us deliver your learning experience and remember your preferences.

Screen Time and app-restriction data (handled on your device). Language Lock uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks to let you set time limits and gate selected apps behind learning sessions. Information about which apps you choose to limit and your device-activity thresholds is managed by Apple's framework and processed on your device. We do not receive the identities of the specific third-party apps you select, and we do not transmit that selection to our servers.

Purchase information. When you buy a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not receive or store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive limited information from Apple confirming your subscription status (such as whether your subscription is active, the plan, and renewal/expiration dates).

Device and diagnostic information. We may collect technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, and crash or performance logs to maintain and improve the App.

Analytics information. We collect aggregated, app-related usage analytics (such as feature engagement and session counts) to understand how the App is used and to improve it.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App and your account;
  • Deliver and personalize your language-learning experience;
  • Manage time limits, reminders, and app-gating features;
  • Process and verify your subscription and provide customer support;
  • Diagnose technical problems, prevent fraud or abuse, and improve the App; and
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. With vendors who perform services for us (such as cloud hosting, authentication, and analytics) under obligations to protect the information and use it only on our behalf.
  • Apple. Subscription transactions are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or us.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • Account deletion. You can delete your account and its associated personal information directly within the App at any time (Settings → Account → Delete Account). When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
  • Access and correction. You may also request access to, or correction of, your personal information by emailing hey@languagelock.app.
  • Screen Time permissions. You can revoke the App's Screen Time / Family Controls access at any time in your device's Settings.
  • Notifications. You can manage push notification permissions in your device's Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EEA/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of certain processing. We honor these rights as required by applicable law. To exercise them, contact hey@languagelock.app.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Users

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised "Last updated" date, and material changes may be communicated within the App.
